2001 Implementation Moisture Control System
Geelen Counterflow successfully implemented the new patented Moisture Control System at a petfood manufacturer's plant in Europe.
The system accurately measures
evaporation on each dryer deck of a Geelen Counterflow Batch Dryer. This, in
combination with other process data, results in a measured moisture level of
product in the dryer as well as a forecasted moisture level after the dryer.
This then serves as input for a control loop, which compares measured value to
set point value, and then automatically controls the temperature of the drying
air.
The full scale implementation was carried out at a new 12 tph extruded petfood
line and gave its inventors and the customer great confidence in the benefits
